MC4 connections are commonly used in modern solar modules as they make wiring your solar array considerably easier and faster. The connectors are available in both male and female versions and are designed to snap together. They comply with the National Electric Code, are UL approved, and are the preferred connection method of electrical inspectors. Because of the locking mechanism of the MC4 connectors, they will not come disconnected and are ideal for outdoor use. The connectors can be separated but it requires a special MC4 unlocking tool.
