PAM 8406 is a Class-D audio amplifier that can be powered using simple 3V-5V input and produces an output of 10W (5W+5W). It can receive the audio in any form like MP3, MP4, etc. It’s very easy to connect and operate. The new filterless architecture allows the device to drive the speaker directly, requiring no low-pass output filters. With the same numbers of external components, the efficiency of the PAM8406 is much better than that of Class-AB cousins. It can extend the battery life, which makes it well-suited for portable applications.
This Amplifier allows the user to achieve high-quality audio reproduction from a stereo input. Additionally, it has a special feature that is, it can drive speakers directly from its output. It is a 3watt Class-D stereo amplifier capable of operating on a voltage as low as 2.5 V and up to a maximum of 5 V. The total harmonic distortion plus noise is as little as 0.11 %, which allows this chip to produce a very high-quality sound reproduction. With good speakers, you should get the entire bass and tone that you would not normally be able to hear in a conventional Class AB. This chip provides a pulse width modulated output to drive a conventional loudspeaker. It has a dedicated pair of pins for each channel output. There is no common ground (this means the negative output of the left speaker and the negative output of the right speaker are not the same you cannot connect them together).
